From Nepal to the Gulf & Beyond: A Legacy of Trust
Chairman's Message: Two Decades of Transforming Lives
For nearly 2 decades, Pigeon International has been more than a recruitment agency—we're a bridge between dreams and reality. As Chairman, I've witnessed firsthand how ethical employment practices have transformed not just individual lives but entire communities across Nepal's most vulnerable regions.
The Human Impact: Beyond Statistics
-
Saudi Arabia: Over 10,000 Nepalis placed in healthcare and construction sectors since 2009, sending home $50M+ in remittances annually—enough to fund education for 25,000 children and build 1,200+ homes in rural Nepal. Our healthcare professionals at leading hospitals and health-care providers now include 15 Nepali department heads who started as entry-level staff.
-
Malaysia: 7,000+ workers powering electronics giants like Intel and Sony, with 92% retention rates due to our holistic post-placement support. In Penang's manufacturing hub, Nepali supervisors comprise 18% of mid-management positions—the highest percentage among all foreign worker groups.
But numbers don't tell the full story. Behind each placement is Dhana from Dolakha who funded her daughter's medical school education, or Kamal from Kalikot whose remittances built the first concrete bridge in his village.
A Message to Stakeholders: Challenging the Status Quo
To policymakers:
"Our workers deserve more than paper protections—they need robust pre-departure verification, employer blacklisting systems, and bilateral agreements with enforceable minimum standards. Protect our workers before they fly, not just when problems arise abroad."
To recruiters:
"Profit must never come before people. Let's self-regulate with transparent fee structures and post-placement care before governments force us to. Ethical recruitment isn't just right—it's smart business."
Looking Forward: Innovation with Purpose
-
Piloting AI-driven skill matching to reduce placement times from 45 to 15 days, using predictive analytics to match candidates' aptitude profiles with employer-specific success indicators—currently testing with 300 candidates for positions at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
-
Lobbying for bilateral labor agreements with the UAE that include portable social security benefits, skills certification recognition, and pathways to longer-term residency for specialized workers. Our detailed proposal reached the ministerial level in February 2024.
Closing: My Personal Commitment
"Trust isn't built overnight. It's earned through actions—one ethical placement at a time. When I look at Goma, who arrived in Dubai as a housekeeper and now manages hospitality services for a luxury hotel chain, or Bishnu, who started as a construction worker and now leads safety training for 2,000 employees—I see why this work matters. After two decades and 25,000 placements, my commitment remains unchanged: every worker who leaves Nepal through our agency deserves dignity, opportunity, and a brighter future. This isn't just business—it's a sacred responsibility."
